   I had this with both my pregnancies.  My midwife recommended the Brewer's Diet.  Perhaps you could read up on that; basically it's a lot of protein, egg whites (can sneak in powdered in other foods), lots of water - drink to thirst, and salt to taste.  As long as blood pressure is ok and there is no "pitting" - press in near ankle and hold a few seconds and if indentation remains deeply that is not good - indicates hypertension? trying to remember that part.
