Are these worthy of adding to my collection as I find them at good prices? I think I have one here somewhere, but I've not read it yet and I know there are several authors. I'd love some opinions about the series.

Most of the ones we have read are good. There are a few that we have found to be boring. I am glad that I have them because they help fill in the history between the big events.

MemberI have almost all of them in my lending library. Most we've read have been very good. The American Revolution we just simply couldn't get through. SO boring. I caution you about Fosdick's books. He wrote the ones on Jesus, Paul and also Martin Luther. I own them just as part of my collection but I always warn my patrons before checking them out. As you're searching for living books, I also recommend the Signature series. These are well-written biographies. The We Were There's are popular in my library as well. Piper, North Star and Winston Adventures are also ones to pick up.
