I spent money on something that wasn't worth it for my family. I wish I would learn. $40. I could think of so much better ways to have spent it.
I did it again... ugh

I feel your pain. I spent $520 on non-returnable software that I don't like!

Oh....me too! I bought a book this week I wanted for the kids, but somehow I ordered two copies instead of one without realizing it. (Duh....good math skills, huh?) When we opened the box and saw the two copies of the same book, my DD said, "Mom, we already own that book!"
Sigh.

Go to http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com and open an account (it's free).
You can sell what you can't use (and buy used). You can post "wanted" and also "for sale". It's a wonderful time saver, as I don't have to keep searching for something I want to buy.
It's my "safety net" so I never have to worry about being stuck with buying homeschool books that I can't use or when I think I'll be able to use something and it turns out it's not what we needed.

I totally understand, that's why i'm in such agony this week trying to finalize a decision on something, but having a hard time because I don't want to make a mistake and get something we won't use.

You might check the return policy. For example, I know Amazon makes it easy. If any of those materials came from us we give you 30 days with no questions asked to return them for a refund.

It was from The Old Schoolhouse and it is an e-product. I will check, but I wouldn't think it would be refundable. Oh, well.

My understanding (and you check homeschooling classifieds policy) is that if you resell e-products, you can put them on disk to sell to someone else but you just need to make sure you remove it from your computer completely (so you wouldn't still have it).
