Thanks! I found the books by Stephen Meader at my library, also! I placed a hold on one! I figure I will just place a hold on one from each series and see which one is a best fit! Thanks for the help everyone!

Sugar Creek Gang books are listed for 9 to 12 year olds. My kids loved the stories as read alouds from about 4 years old and up, but I would say they are about 3rd grade level.

Dan Frontier books are graduated readers. Well done.

Boys in my library love books by Stephen Meader. They've been reprinted although they're pricey. You might find some at your library.

The Dan Frontier books are different grade levels, depending on the book. Some are 1st-2nd. Some are 3rd-4th. My son is turning 8yo next week, but he reads at about a high 3rd/low 4th grade level. So, we read the JF books, not the JE books.

Thanks so much! I reserved the "The Swamp Robber" from the Sugar Creek Gang and "Justin Morgan had a Horse" at the library! You all are awesome! My son hated reading until I started listening to everyone's book recommendations! Now, he loves it!

Dan Frontier is by William Hurley. My library has them! But, pay attention to the reading levels. The books are various reading levels. Some of them were really easy for him. He read them anyway, but they weren't challenging. Others were the perfect level, though! You will love them! They are full of all kinds of adventures that little boys love! I only wish there were lots more!

Hi! All of you wonderful ladies have led me to two series for my 8yo. We have read every Billy and Blaze book and almost every Dan Frontier book, Thanks for the help!! But, now what? Any other ideas? The Juvenile Fiction Dan Frontier books are the perfect reading level for him and he loves them! But, we only have two left! Can anyone think of any similar books?

Thanks!
