I don't know what I would do without our online inter-library loan service. Hopefully you can check into this and find that this is available to you as well. You can request the books to be transferred to your local library & just pick them up when they are in. We've found most of our needed books on the SCM bookfinder this way.

Blessings

You could check for online versions at

Gutenberg.org

The Baldwin Online Project

Google Books

or just do a search on Google for the title and author's last name. You might find an online version in a university's library database or something.

Also, if your library offers Inter-Library Loans (where they borrow the books from other libraries), you might use that service.

I have continually tried to find books listed in the bookfinder and books in the book "Books Children Love" but it seems to be rare that I find them at my local library. I end up purchasing some books used online but that can be costly after a while. And after I receive the book I may not even like it. Are there any other aventues to finding some of these great living books besides my library and buying them? Is there a sight for free ebooks or something?
