Yes, I store them away. I mainly have Easter and Christmas and they are stored with seasonal decorations I use. This way its like unwrapping a new gift book each year.

I stored them away...and then forgot I owned them or forgot where I put them! My kids have outgrown books while I had them stashed away, so I stopped doing it. I also used to stash books away that were too advanced for them, but same thing happened...I forgot about them.

If you have a good system and a working memory, it's a nice idea to pull books out in season. I couldn't manage it.

As a former preschool teacher, I kept the same habit for our homeschool of putting away the seasonal reads. We have a box for each season and one for Christmas and one for Easter. We really don't have the space to keep them out year round anyway. That's on my wish list....an in home library... I've noticed that by not having all of them available all the time has helped them focus more on the season at hand. When mine have too many choices they get distracted.

I'd say experiment and see what works for you.

Blessings!!

No, we keep them out year round. The children (and I!) sometimes read books when we are missing a season - like spring in the middle of a snowy winter, or a fall book about harvest when we are sweating in the garden in summer over weeds.

Yes, I put them away and only bring them out when appropriate. This way I know where they are and they are fresh and new each year.

We have a lot of picture books, some of which are season-specific (fall/summer/winter/summer; holidays;etc.). My question is...do you store them away and only bring them out during that season? We do this for Christmas books but I can't quite figure out if it makes sense to do it for the other books. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks so much!
